A Unique Opportunity

After the initial press release and track time OCD were welcomed to Highlands to perform a restoration & enhancement detail on the Aston Martin Vulcan - not only to correct any light defecting but bring out a superior finish to when it was initially delivered. This is not only a huge privilege but a once in a life time opportunity for OCD. A tribute to the Avro Vulcan V bomber of the 1950's; the Southern Hemispheres only Aston Martin Vulcan resides right here in New Zealand,based at the Highlands Motorsport Park. With a whopping $4.2 million dollar price tag the Aston Martin Vulcan is the most expensive production car to be sold in New Zealand. The Vulcan presented a unique challenge, due to the fact it needed to stay inside the museum for detailing. The interior of the vehicle is an array of carbon fibre, alcantara and hard plastics. There was a fine dust all through the interior which required delicate cleaning as to not scratch any of the surfaces. We finished this with a full vacuum and glass clean. As for the engine bay, we thoroughly cleaned the surfaces and hand polished and waxed all of the carbon fibre. |
