gumboot rallyObsessive are long-time sponsors of the Gumboot Rally - a weekend-long drive on some of the best roads NZ has to offer, with challenges in between. This grass-roots Rally was formed in 2013 with the purpose being first and foremost the thrill of the drive. Gumboot Rally work closely with Gumboot Friday; who raise funds to offer free counselling for young Kiwis. We can't think of a better cause to support here at Obsessive. The most expensive production car in NZ
After the initial press release, Obsessive were welcomed to Highlands to perform a restoration & enhancement detail on the Aston Martin Vulcan - not only to correct any light defecting but bring out a superior finish to when it was initially delivered. This is not only a huge privilege but a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Obsessive. A tribute to the Avro Vulcan V bomber of the 1950's; the Southern Hemisphere's only Aston Martin Vulcan resides right here in New Zealand, based at the Highlands Motorsport Park. With a whopping $4.2 million dollar price tag the Aston Martin Vulcan is the most expensive production car to be sold in New Zealand. The Vulcan presented a unique challenge, due to the fact it needed to stay inside the museum for detailing. We took the basis of our Stage 4 package and applied it in a way to produce minimal noise and dust - starting with a thorough quick detail clean thorough decontamination of the paintwork (of which we found minute traces of iron filings and rubber). We then proceeded to cut and polish the vehicle using a combination of machine and hand application - finishing with a glaze, synthetic sealant and carnauba wax. All other exterior surfaces were cleaned and treated leaving the car in true show condition. Truly amazing was the amount of shine we managed to create from the paintwork and carbon fiber and the sheer amount of metallic fleck that came through from the paintwork. |
